How many diets have you tried?

How many worked?

Sure, maybe they work for 7 days, 10 days, 30 days or whatever they promise. But then what happens? Life. You go back to your normal eating habits, and back to the same body you started with, but now feeling dejected because you must just not have the willpower to be skinny.

They don’t work in the long run, right? Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. We see an ad on Instagram with a photoshopped model and we think that if we drink THAT brand of tea, we will instantly have a tanned bod with a little waist and big boobs. Doesn’t work. But then we see a new diet book in the store claiming if you don’t eat any carbs you’ll lose weight in 14 days. It works! But after those 14 days, you really want pasta and can’t imagine living your whole life without a single carb. So you go back to your normal eating habits. The cycle goes on and on. You can probably come up with 10 examples of dumb fads you’ve tried. Diet books, cook books, movies, slimming pills, detox teas, juice cleanses, fill in the blank.

Why do we keep torturing ourselves?

Intuitive eating is a process of getting back to the body’s natural ability to heal itself, by itself. Your body knows what is good for it and what is not. The problem is that we are all so disconnected with our own bodies. We don’t know how to feel what is happening after we eat. We don’t see the connection between what we eat and the stomach pains, groggy feeling, energy levels, skin problems, mood swings, or chronic disease.

You have complete autonomy over your own body. Own it. Feel empowered to make the best decisions for YOU. Not because of rules that someone made up, but because you know what works best for your body.
